About Beermap Zürich

Beermap compares what restaurants, bars and cafés in Zürich charge for the same things: a beer, an espresso, a Pizza Margherita, a lunch menu. It shows the cheapest places as a list and on a map.

Where the prices come from

The prices are read automatically from the menus that places publish on their own websites: web pages, PDFs and photos of menus. A program visits each website, finds its menu, and a language model picks out the prices for the items on Beermap. Every price is then checked against the menu text, and doubtful ones are left out. Websites that ask not to be visited by programs (robots.txt) are not read.

Prices were last read in autumn 2026. Menus change, and an automatic reading can be wrong, so check the menu before you go. Every place's page links to the menu its prices came from.

For restaurants

Is a price wrong or out of date, or would you rather not be listed? Write to the address on the project page with your restaurant's name, and it will be corrected or removed with the next update.

Privacy

• No account and no advertising. Visits are counted with Google Analytics, which sets cookies and sends Google your IP address, device and the pages you open; it is used only to see how many people use the site and which pages. Block it with a content blocker or your browser's tracking protection if you prefer.
• "Near me" uses your location only in your browser, to sort and filter the list. It is not sent anywhere.
• The map pictures come from OpenFreeMap, whose servers see the requests your browser makes for them, like any website you visit.
• "Directions" opens Google Maps, only when you tap it.
• Fonts, the map library and all other files are served by this site itself.
